Police detains nine gamblers in old city
Srinagar: Police on Sunday arrested nine gamblers from old city area of Nowhatta and Khanyar.
“In its continuous drive by the Srinagar Police against social crimes, a police party of Police Station Nowhatta raided gaming site near Khawja Bazar and apprehended three gamblers. All the gamblers were arrested and stake money Rs 11,300 was also seized,” a police spokesman said. .
In another such incident a police party of Police Station raided a gambling site near Babademb and apprehended six gamblers.
All the six gamblers were arrested and stake money, Rs 10,530 was also seized, police said.
