Srinagar: Students of the Central University of Kashmir on Saturday blocked the Nowgam Bypass road against the detention of two students of the varsity by government forces.
Reports said that two students identified as Suhail Ahmed from Shopian and Mohammad Ismail from Baramulla were earlier detained by the government forces by their rented accommodation near the university. However, an officer from the concerned police station refused to give any details about the arrest of the duo.
In response to their detention, scores of the students on Saturday morning took out the protest demonstration and demanded the immediate release of the duo. They disrupted traffic on the road demanding immediate release of the detained student.
