Multiple funeral prayers held for slain Shopian militants

Shopian: Multiple funeral prayers were held for the two local militants killed in a pre dawn gunfight that erupted in Shopian’s Safnagri village on Tuesday, before they were laid to rest.

According to reports thousands of people including women and children thronged to the Safnagri and Awnera to participate in their funeral prayers.

Reports  said that that four back to back funeral prayers were held for slain militant Idrees Sultan from Safnagri village.

“He was laid rest in a local graveyard here,” locals said.

Similarly three back to back funeral prayers were held for slain Amir Hussian from Awneera village of Shopian.

The duo were killed in a gunfight at Safnagri village of Shopian in a gunfight that erupted after government forces laid siege on the village.
While Idreess was formerly territorial Army man but joined Hizbul mujahideen  and was active since April 15 2018, Amir Hussian was active since May 23 2018.

Shopian is observing a shutdown to against the killing of the two militants today.
