Kashmiri student attacked at his accommodation in Punjab, family approaches Div Com

Srinagar: A Kashmiri student pursuing engineering in Chandigarh was injured after a group of seven persons attacked him with a knife and iron rods at his rented accommodation on Friday night. 

Reports quoting the injured student, Musbashir of Balhama Srinagar, said that a group of seven persons, masked and armed with knife, iron rods attacked him while he and his roommates were asleep.

Mubashir has said that the masked persons barged inside room and did not give them a chance to retaliate, beating him with iron roads.

The student was hospitalised at Suhana hospital, Mohali.

While a police complaint has been lodged by aggrieved student, they claim college authorities are taking a lackadaisical approach.

The administrator of the college was quoted in news reports as saying that they have called students who have been identified by the Mubashir as attackers.

Anoop, the administrator of the college promised action in the case.

Mubashir has said that his attackers had apologized to him and said that it was case of misunderstanding.

“If this was the case they should have atleast given me a chance when they attacked me,” he was quoted in reports.

Mubashir’s family has approached Jammu and Kashmir police and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s office as well.
