CRPF vehicle hits private car in Lalchowk, accident leads to clashes in city centre

Srinagar: Clashes erupted in city centre Lal Chowk this evening after an Alto car was hit by a CRPF vehicle on Maulana Azad Road Near Fancy Fabrics showroom.
Witnesses said that clashes broke out between people around and CRPF personnel after the family in the private car entered into an argument with the forces personnel. Forces reports said used lathis to disperse the people.
The Alto Car Bearing No. JK01L 4499 of Peer Mohammad Yasin Khaki who along with his family including children was heading towards home was hit by a CRPF vehicle, police, however, denied the reports of stone pelting.
Station House Officer, Kothi Bagh Sajad Ahmad while said that a minor accident took place at Lalchowk resulting heavy traffic jamming.
“No clashes erupted during the accident or the traffic jam. The traffic is now running smoothly. We have taken both the vehicles to police station Kothi Bagh.” said the SHO.
Mohammad Muzammil son of Mohammad Yasin Khaki said that the vehicle has suffered huge losses up to rupees fifty thousand (50,000).
“We are at the police station right now. The CRPF vehicle hit the car being driven by my father from the back side. Everyone is safe. The car however suffered loss up to 50,000,”  he told a local Newsagency
