Youth booked under PSA, shifted to Kot Balwal

Pulwama: A youth hailing from Pulwama was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kot Balwal Jail in Jammu, officials said Friday.
The youth identified as Arshid Ahmad Thoker son of Ghulam Hassan Thoker resident of Chandgam village of Pulwama district has been slapped with PSA and was immediately shifted to Kot Bolwal jail in Jammu.
Arshid according to his family was arrested during a raid 15 days back and was shifted outside Valley a day before.
A labourer by profession, Arshid has been arrested several times in the past.
The family said that he was called by an Army unit of Tahab camp and was ruthlessly beaten there.
“He was beaten so ruthlessly that he had sustained injuries in one ear and was to undergo a surgery but forces have arrested him yet again,” they said.
During 2016 uprising, he has received pellet injuries in his head, they said.
A senior police official said that Arshid was booked under PSA for having strong links with militants.
Pertinently, Hilal Ahmad Dobi, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dobi a youth from Tral Pulwama area was also booked under PSA and was sent to Jammu jail.
On 18 September, a pellet victim and blinded by one eye another youth identified as Suhail Ahmad Trambo, son of Mohammad Ahsan of Murran Pulwama was booked under PSA and shifted to Kuthua jail.
