JKLF recalls horror of 2005 earthquake

Says unity exhibited by people remains exemplary

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Monday said that a devastating earthquake on this day in 2005 changed the lives of millions across the artificial line dividing the nation of Kashmir.
“Oct 08 is a day of introspection for the denizens of Jammu Kashmir living across the cease fire line (LoC) who witnessed a massive earthquake,” JKLF said in a statement issued here.
JKLF spokesman on the anniversary of 2005 earthquake said that “the exemplary show of unity, dedication, brotherhood, sacrifice and selflessness displayed by the people of Jammu Kashmir after that devastating earthquake remains a glowing page of our history.”
Praying for all those who lost their lives in that devastating catastrophe, JKLF spokesman prayed to Allah almighty to save the nation of Jammu Kashmir, whole Muslim Ummah and rest of the world from such devastations.
Meanwhile, JKLF also expressed shock and grief over the shocking accident at Banihal Ramban road in which dozens of people lost their lives and many got severely injured.
Following the instructions of JKLF incarcerated chief Muhammad Yasin Malik, a delegation of JKLF comprising of Moulana Muhammad Yakoob Rabbani and Shams ud din Rahi visited the families of all deceased in accident and delivered condolences from JKLF chairman to these devastated families.
A social figure of Banihal Abdul Gani Tantray also accompanied the delegation.
The delegation prayed for the heavenly abode of all the deceased and also for the speedy recovery of those injured.
JKLF chief has also expressed his heartfelt grief over the death of Malik Abdul Majeed of Lal Bazar who after a brief illness breathed his last yesterday.
Deceased was the brother-in-law of senior JKLF leader Javed Ahmad Zargar.
Malik while praying for the heavenly abode of the deceased, expressed solidarity with his bereaved family.
