Srinagar: In a first, the JK School Education Department has decided to set up special examination centres for the specially-abled students appearing in the class 10th annual examination.

The announcement was made by the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) G N Itoo while reviewing the arrangement for the upcoming examinations to be conducted by JK Board of School Education (BOSE)

“The centre will be set up at BOSE office Srinagar and concerned teachers and other staff has been asked to maintain cooperation during the conduct of the examinations,” Itoo said during the review meeting convened at the conference hall of JKBOSE Bemina. DSEK G N Itoo stressed upon all the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to personally inspect the examination centres to ensure proper arrangements as per guidelines and submit the report to the directorate.

“The cleanliness and the discipline in and around the examination centres should be set in place properly besides heating and seating arrangements wherever necessary should be provided especially in far flung areas,” Itoo said.

Secretary BOSE Riyaz Ahmad stressed upon all the concerned to comply by the norms set by the JKBOSE in letter and spirit.

Meanwhile, the officials including CEO’s discussed about the confrontations faced by the district officials during the examination.

Pertinently, the exams for class 12th will commence from October 22 in which 69000 candidates are appearing at 622 centers, similarly 10th class examination will start from October 24 in which 55000 candidates are appearing at 541 centers and 11th class examinations will start from October 26 in which 62000 candidates are appearing at 539 centers.

The deployment of teachers for exam duty will be finalized by the concerned chief education officers (CEOs).

“Department will ensure that there is no repetition of the teachers deployed for exam duty,” Itoo said, he said the exam centres will be under continuous surveillance. “We won’t allow any sort of miscreants to play any mischief and create any disruption in the smooth conduct of exams,” Itoo said.

Itoo further directed the concerned officials to strictly comply by the instructions laid down by the department for the smooth conduct of examinations and ensure that the students carry only the necessary prescribed things to the examination centres.

“Any complaint against the examination staff will be taken very seriously,” Itoo added.
