Anantnag villagers demand restoration of water supply
Anantnag: The residents of Khreeti-Darun area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district Friday staged a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department to demand water supply in their area.
Scores of residents assembled in the area and raised anti-PHE slogans, demanding Water supply in Khreeti area of Anantnag district.
Locals told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that they are facing hardships due to water crisis in their villages.
Another local said that “we approached to the higher ups in this regard but nothing has been done in this regard. We are being forced to drink impure water for drinking.”
MLA Kokernag, Abdul Rahim Rather, said that the funds will be released within month following which the work will be started.
