Local militant held in Sopore, claims police
Sopore: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a local militant during a routine checking in Hadipora area of Rafiabad.
Police said that a local militant was held during routine checking at Baramulla-Handwara road near Hadipora crossing had recently joined the Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit. ‘
His video went viral on social media in which he was seen threatning people of North Kashmir’ for participating in the forthcoming Local Bodies and Panchayat elections, a police statement issued said.
It said a case has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation have been taken up.
The arrested militant has been identified as Amir Sultan War son of Mohammad Sultan War resident of Naidkhai Sumbal Bandipora, the statement added.
