Srinagar: Authorities on Sunday restored the high and low-speed internet services in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts. The services remained suspended for almost a week.

The mobile Internet services were suspended in Pulwama following Friday’s gunfight in Kangan village. A local militant Mussavir Wani was killed in the gunfight.

However, only low-speed Internet service was restored in Shopian district. The service was suspended in Shopian on April 1 following two gunfights in Dragad and Kachdoora villages that left 13 militants, four civilians and three soldiers dead.

Notably more than 200 people were injured in fierce clashes that rocked the area following the killings.
