Ration dealer held with drugs in Rajouri

Jammu: A ration dealer was today arrested after contraband drugs were allegedly recovered from his store in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior police officer said.

Acting on a tip-off, a police party raided the ration store run by Mohammad Sharif Chowdhary in his village at Pargal in Darhal area and recovered 805 grams of Charas and 710 grams of poppy straw, said Senior Superintendent of Police (Rajouri) Yougal Manhas.

The ration store was sealed and a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against the accused, the officer added.
