Police identifies 5 militants killed in Kachdoora gunfight
Srinagar: Police on Monday identified the five militants killed in Kachdoora encounter in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Sunday.
In a statement, the police identified the slain militants as as Ishfaq Thokar resident of Paddarpora Shopian, Aitmad Hussain Dar resident of Amshipora, Shopian, Aqib Bashir resident of DH Pora Kulgam, Sameer Lone of Hillow Shopian And Gayas ul Islam Thoker of Paderpora.
“The body of Sameer was taken out by the locals out of the debris and handed over to his family which was subsequently buried”, a spokesman of police said.
“All of them are understood to be part of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, and had joined the organisation in last one year,” the official added.
Pertinently, three civilians and three army men were also killed during the gunfight in Kachdoora.
