Students protest against R&B department in Uri
Baramulla: Scores of students on Tuesday held a protest demonstration against the Roads and Buildings Department for ‘failing’ to handover a school building sanctioned for Government High School Chandanwari in north Kashmir’s Uri.
The protesting students alleged that R&B department has not handed over the school building to the school administration even after its completion.
“After completion of the building which has been sanctioned for Government High School Chandanwari, R&B department has not handed over the building to the school authorities,” the protesting students said.
Reports said scores of students blocked the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad national highway at Chandanwari and shouted slogans against R&B department.
However, after getting assurance from Zonal Education Officer Chandanwari, the protest was called off and traffic was restored in the area.
