Cloudy weather to persist today: MeT

Srinagar: Even as the weather remained partially cloudy, the local Meteorological department on Tuesday predicted dry weather for next eight days across the state.

Deputy Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Mukhtar Ahmad told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that they are predicting ‘no rains’ for the next upcoming days.

“According to the prediction, the next eight days would remain mainly dry,” he said.

Asked about today’s cloudy weather, the official said that the cloudy weather will persist till tomorrow (Wednesday).

The MeT official said that the maximum temperature would remain as it was recorded from past couple of days while the temperature during the morning and evening hours would show some decrease.

However, the MeT officials in their statement said that the light rains would occur at isolated places across the state on Wednesday.

The statement further read that that the maximum temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of the state was recorded 22.8 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 6.8 degree Celsius.

It further reads that the day temperature at Kargil was recorded 16.8 degree Celsius while as the night temperature was recorded minus 2.2 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature in Jammu, the winter capital of the state was recorded 30.8 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 18.4 degree Celsius.
