Central Kashmir areas shut on first death anniversary of three youth

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in Chadoora and adjoining areas of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on the first anniversary of three youth who were killed in a firing incident by government forces near an encounter site in 2017.

Reports said that all shops and businesses establishments are shut in the area, while public traffic is off the roads.

Pertinently, three youth Zahid Rashid Ganai son of Abdur Rashid of Chadoora, Amir Fayaz Waza, 18, son of Fayaz Ahmad of Waza Mohalla, Wathoora and Ishaq Ahmed Wani, 24, son of Abdur Rashid of Wawoosa, Rangreth, were killed near the encounter site and 35 sustained injuries after government forces opened fire to disperse protesters near a gunfight site at Durbug place.
