Undergraduate students protest against KU

Sopore: The undergraduate students of Government Degree College (GDC) Sopore Monday staged protest against the Kashmir University for ‘failing’ to hold their examinations.

The students assembled at college campus and chanted slogans against the varsity.

The protesting students alleged that the authorities are playing with their career by delaying their examinations. “The University was spoiling their future,” they said, demanding authorities to conduct 3rd and 4th semester examinations jointly.

“We demand that our 3rd and 4th semester examination should be held jointly as we have lost a lot of time,” Mohammad Asim, among the students said.

He said that it has become a routine for KU ‘to create trouble for students’ and ‘play with our careers’.

Moreover, Asim said that similar protests took place last year and a number of memorandums were given to the university authorities but all in vain.

Students claimed that after semester system of examination students are only ‘suffering’ and demanded a roll back of the ongoing semester based examination system.”
