Pulwama: Protests erupted in Tahab village of Pulwama district on Tuesday against alleged high-handedness of forces during night.

The protesters alleged that army men, SOG and CRPF broke window panes of many houses and thrashed many people during nocturnal Cordon and Search Operation in Tahab village.

Locals alleged that even women folk was not spared by government forces as they too were beaten.

Following the incident, scores of residents today assembled at Main chowk Tahab and started protesting  against the army’s highhandedness and were demanding the removal of Army/CRPF joint camp.

Pertinently,  a sentry guarding camp at Tahab had last night fired some gun shots in air after which search operation was launched in the area.

Meanwhile a team of officials headed by tehsildar Pulwama has reached to the spot to pacify the protestors.
