Army patrol party fired at
Srinagar: Suspected militants on Monday attacked army’s patrolling party in Kachdora area of Shopian district.
Official sources said that a group of militants opened fire upon army’s 34 RR near BSNL tower in Kachdoora area. The soldiers retaliated, however there was no immediate report of any casualty on either side.
When contacted SSP Shopian Shri Ram Ambarkar confirmed the incident and said that police is verifying the details.
Forces later launched a cordon and search operation in the village, sources said.
