Graffiti image of Hizb commander annoys army in Tral
Tral: A graffiti of slain Hizbul commander Burhan Wani annoyed an army patrol in Tral area of South Kashmir on Saturday. The army men according to reports thrashed a local Auqaf head forcing people to stage protests.
Witnesses said that protests erupted in Mandoora area of south Kashmir’s Tral after the army men thrashed Hafiz Riyaz, Auqaf president. Locals also alleged that the army men damaged some private vehicle also.
Locals said that army men were furious over a graffiti of former Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani and anti India graffiti’s depicted on a shop which were written on it in during the 2016 uprising.
They said that army men asked some people to erase the graffiti’s which was resisted by them.
“This move infuriated the army men who bet the local Auqaf body head and damaged some private vehicles,” they added.
Soon after the news spread in the area, people came out of houses and started protesting against the army action. The people were demanding removal of army camp from the area, witnesses added.
Meanwhile, police team and ADC Tral reached the spot and pacified the protestors and assured them that matter will be investigated.
