Dooru gunfight: Slain militants belong to JeM, says police
Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that the two militants killed in an encounter with government forces in Shistragam village in Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district are foreign militants from Pakistan belonging to Jaish-e- Mohammad militant outfit.
“Preliminary investigation suggests that both the killed militants are from Pakistan” a police spokesman said.
“Further based on the seizures made from the spot and other incriminating materials collected so far have confirmed that the killed militants were a part of Jaish-e- Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit” the police official said while adding that the operation ended without any collateral damage.
“The assessment made in the earlier Press statement today that the killed militants apparently could be of LeT stands reviewed hereafter” the official further added.
