Police claims recovery of ‘incriminating material’ during searches

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday claimed to have recovered incriminating material during searches in Samboora and Bijbehara in Pulwama and Anantnag districts.

A spokesman of the police said that on the strength of search warrants, police personnel from Budgam conducted searches in Samboora and Bijbehara.

“Continuing investigation of a sensitive case registered at Budgam, search warrants were obtained from the competent court and accordingly three places in Bijbehara and Samboora were searched” the police official said.

“Pertinently the assistance of Anantnag police and Awantipora police were taken in the search besides independent witnesses,” he added.

“Incriminating materials recovered during the search have been duly processed for judicial endorsement. Investigation of the case is under progress,” he further added.

Sources meanwhile said that the searches were conducted in the houses of two suspects who are believed to be involved in the killing of a sentry in Chari-e-Sharief.
