Students join villagers in protest against bad condition of road in Sopore outskirts

Sopore: Up in arms against bad condition of the road  in Sopore town of north Kashmir , students along with the locals held a protest demonstration against the district administration and the concerned authorities.

Reports said that residents including students of Tarzoo and its adjoining villages  hit the roads at Tarzu and started protests against the Roads and Buildings department (R&B) for ignoring the local road.

Alleging that the district administration was adopting a negligent approach towards the area , the locals said that they are facing immnse hard-ships.

“Due to bad condition of road and lack of proper drainage system, the commuters are facing immense problems”, locals alleged.

The inhabitants said that due to pathetic condition of the road- students, employees and patients face immense hardships to reach their respective destinations. They added that authorities have failed us on every front, because of this step-motherly approach,  we are yet to see any development in our village,  locals added.

Meanwhile officials in R&B department of Sopore Division told that this inner link comes under CRF (Centre Roads Fund) and till the time road widening is not completed we can’t go for macdamisation, they however added that almost 70% road widening is completed and soon road will be macadamised.
