LoC Flare up: Five of a family killed in shelling

Srinagar: Five people all belonging to one family were killed as the armies of India and Pakistan traded heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area of Poonch district in Jammu division, defence sources said on Sunday.

They said that the two armies resorted to shelling began around 7:40 am today in Balakote sector of Mendhar.

They said that a shell landed at the house of Muhammad Ramzan at Devta, killing him, his wife Malka Bi and three sons. Two of his daughters have been critically injured, the sources added.
