To limit over speeding, Shopian police erects barricades

Srinagar: In order to limit the over speeding in the Shopian District, police has erected barricades at specified location on the request of general public.

“Due to its unique hilly terrain people of Shopian district  usually suffered inconvenience on  road in the form of frequent traffic jams. On the request of general public, Shopian Police launched a special drive for efficient traffic management in and around Shopian Town. Removing of hurdles at bottlenecks and busy crossings is  being  done along with erection of barricades at specific locations to limit over-speeding of vehicles” a police spokesman said.

The District Police has in a special step dedicated more manpower exclusively for better regulation of traffic along the main road junctions in the apple town, the official added.

Meanwhile, citizens of Shopian thanked district police for a visible change in traffic scenario on ground level.
