‘Kashmir beauty fascinates Malaysian High Commission officials’

Srinagar: After enjoying their holiday trip to Kashmir which concluded on Wednesday, officials at the Malaysian High Commission vowed to encourage their citizens to visit Valley for holidaying, Tourism department said in a statement.

Counsellor Mohd Hafiz Bin Othman and Counsellor Zamil, Advisor Dr Ahmad Sham Baharin and Immigration Attache Siti Zulaikha Binti Abdul Wahab at Malaysian High Commission along with their families were mesmerized by the beauty of Kashmir and local hospitality.

Notably, the diplomats had expressed their willingness to visit Kashmir at Ambassadors’ Meet organised by Tourism department Kashmir in collaboration with Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) at New Delhi on February 1.

Many ambassadors including the Malaysian Ambassador along with their officials from the High Commission had attended the Meet at New Delhi and expressed desire to visit Kashmir.

Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah interacted with the Malaysian diplomats and apprised them about the tourism products the state has to offer.

During the interaction, the diplomats informed Director Tourism that many Malaysians had been sending them queries about their travels to Kashmir.

On their visit, the diplomats said they saw a completely different picture here against what is being portrayed by some section of media.

The visiting delegates said they would post their travel pictures form Kashmir on their official website and promote Kashmir among their countrymen.

“They also promised to promote Kashmir by encouraging their citizens to visit the Valley without having any fear,” said Director Tourism.
