Four gamblers arrested in Budgam

Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four gamblers while gambling in Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A police official said that acting on an input, Budgam police headed by SHO Khag Shri Vilyat Hussain raided a gambling site at Khag near grid station.

“Four gamblers who were identified as Akbar Ahmad Sheikh, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Ayaz Ahmad Shah, residents of Khag and Abdul Rashid Sheikh resident of Hardu Sorish Khag were arrested on the spot” he said.

“A stake money of rupees 2200 and playing cards were seized from the gambling spot”, he added.

Consequently, police has registered a case FIR number 13/2018 under section 13 Gambling Act and investigation has been taken up.
