Drabu ouster: Altaf Bhukhari to take charge as Finance Minister
Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari was today assigned Finance Minister Portfolio after the ouster of Haseeb Drabu.
The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today called on Altaf Bhukhari and assigned him the additional charge of finance.
Pertinently, Haseeb Drabu was unceremoniously removed from the council of ministers by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday over his remarks that the Kashmir issue was not a political one.
The chief minister yesterday shot off a letter to the state Governor N N Vohra requesting him to drop Drabu from her council of ministers with immediate effect.
The Governor, after examining the letter, wrote back to the chief minister conveying his nod to her request to drop the 57-year-old Drabu from her council of ministers.
