Militants abduct, thrash civilian in South Kashmir: Police

Kulgam: Police Thursday said that a youth was abducted by some unknown persons from his native village Qaimoh in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district during evening hours with an intention to kill him.

A senior police official said that one Owais Rashid Bhat S/O Ab Rasheed Bhat resident of Qaimoh aged about 20 years was abducted by some unknown persons from his native village Qaimoh during evening hours and was  then thrown away at Ves Batpora area in almost unconscious state after being beaten ruthlessly.

“He was rushed to District Hospital Kulgam  and was furtger refered to Srinagar from district Hospital.In this regard case FIR No 04/2018 under section 364 RPC stands registered at PS Qaimoh and investigation was set into motion”, the police official said.

“Preliminary investigation suggest that he was abducted by a group of militants from Qaimoh area in the evening and was mercilessly beaten without any rhyme or reason and thrown away” , he added.

Police said that further investigation into the matter is going on.
