Educational institutions closed for two more days

Srinagar: The government has decided to suspend the class work in all the schools and degree colleges for two days.

The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to avoid law and order situation in Valley, officials said.

“The class work will remain suspended on Thursday and Friday in all schools and colleges across Kashmir,” officials said.

They said the class work will resume in educational institutions from Saturday except in south Kashmir districts.

“In south Kashmir, class work will resume from Monday,” they added.

Meanwhile, class work at the University of Kashmir shall remain suspended on March 8 and March 9, 2018 (Thursday/Friday), a spokesman of the Varsity said.

He said that all the examinations scheduled to be held on March 8 and March 9, 2018 are postponed. Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately, he said.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education on Wednesday has postponed all the exams scheduled for March 08 and 09.

“All the exams scheduled for Thursday and Friday have been postponed and fresh dates will be notified later” an official said.
