SDMA issues Low Danger Avalanche Warning
JAMMU: On the basis of information received from SASE, Low danger avalanche warning has been issued for next 24 hrs for Baramulla, Gulmarg, Furkian-Z Gali and Kupwara-Chowkibal-Tangdhar, Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar Udhampur, Anantnag, Kulgam, Budgam, Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal Kargil and Leh Districts, Bandipora-Kanzalwan-Gurez sector and Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
People living in these avalanche prone areas have been advised by the Disaster Management Authority to take precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has also issued an avalanche warning for the avalanche prone areas of Bandipora, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kulgam, Budgam, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Leh and Kargil districts of Kashmir Division.
The deputy commissioners of the concerned districts have been asked to advise people not to venture out in avalanche prone areas. Besides, they are also requested to all precautionary measures and to keep the SDRF, Police and para-medical staff with ambulances in readiness to avert any untoward incident.
