Driver killed, conductor injured in Uri mishap

Baramulla: A 45-year old bus driver died in a road accident at Jullha area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday evening, a senior police official said.

“A bus bearing registration number JK05A- 6137 was on way to Jullha area of Uri when the driver suddenly lost control and the vehicle fell into a deep gorge resulting in on spot death of the driver while the conductor who was also travelling in the bus got critically injured. He was later rushed to nearby hospital,” police said.

Meanwhile Police identified the deceased driver as Bashir Ahmed son of Mohammad Rajab resident of Syed Kareem Baramulla while the injured conductor was identified as Farooq Ahmed resident of Nambla Uri.

A case has been registered in this regard, police said.
