Srinagar: JK Central Contractors Coordination Committee Tuesday held a protest demonstration here in Press Enclave Srinagar against the non-payment of bills by the state government.

The contractors were demanding clearance of bills which they claimed were pending with the government.

They alleged that bills worth Rs 35 crore are still pending with government for the last four years.

The contractors demanded the immediate release of the claims, stating that why they should bear the loss due to negligence of engineers and politicians, who force them to complete the work without arranging for the required funds in advance.

Later, they burned the effigy of the state finance minister Haseeb Drabu at Press Colony in Lal Chowk.
