Srinagar: Opposition National Conference (NC) on Monday questioned the functioning of the current regime, saying that the PDP-BJP bonhomie is ruining the career of qualified Kashmir youth as ‘nepotism’ is turning out to be the order of the day.

The opposition party questioning the process of adjusting the kiths and kins of PDP legislators, saying is CM Mehbooba Wazeer-e-Aala or Khala?

The party also said that the rise in militancy is the outcome of the PDP’s anti-youth policies.

Addressing a presser here at party headquarters Nawa-i-Subh, the NC spokesman, Junaid Azim Matoo pointed guns over the ruling dispensation alleging ‘nepotism and loopholes’ being promoted by the present regime.

Matoo said that the schemes meant for the youth are only sanctioned for those who are either kith and kin or political leaders or PDP workers. “The schemes meant for the youth have turned into PDP schemes now,” he added.

“The recent issue of KVIB has exposed the government’s nepotism. The issue must be probed. Cousin of CM Mehbooba declined the job offer as his certificates were fake,” Tanvir Sadiq, Political Secretary to NC working president, Omar Abdullah who was also present on the event said.

He said that the government is pushing the youth towards the wall as qualified and unemployed youth are being deprived of every single benefit that include jobs and loans for starting businesses ventures as well.

“Kashmir youth are taking arms because of the nepotism and loopholes of the government. The qualified youth who have completed their masters and PhDs are being deprived of proper treatment,” he added.

The NC leaders said that besides KVIB, the government’s nepotism can be seen in other departments as well that include JK bank, Waqf Board, JK Sports Council and Social Welfare department.

“We have ample proof against the government’s loopholes and nepotism,” they said, demanding judicial probe into such activities of the government.

“We will not only the courts but also hit the streets to seek justice for the qualified but unemployed youth of JK,” Sadiq said.

“PDP legislators or leaders have appointed their beloved ones in these departments. Therefore, leaving the deserving and qualified candidates to fend for themselves,” he said.

Terming SRO-220 as ‘SRO-420’, the NC leaders said that various political workers and the relatives of legislators including the Chief Minister were appointed under SRO-220.
