5 ultrasound clinics sealed in Kupwara
Kupwara: A team of officers led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Chief Medical Officer Kupwara and Station House Officer Kupwara on Tuesday sealed five ultrasounds setups in north Kashmir’s Kupwara town for not being registered under PNDT, Act.
“In order to curb the menace of illegal sex determination and other un ethical practices on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, a team of Officers headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara and Chief Medical Officer Kupwara and Station House Officer Kupwara inspected the various USG Centers in Kupwara town today on 27th of February 2018” a police official said.
“During the course of inspection various USG Centers were found running in violation of PC&PNDT Act and were immediately sealed on spot” he said.
The unauthorized USG Centers sealed are Ibni-Sena Diagnostic Center Kupwara, Kupwara Scan Point Kupwara, Al-Hayat Diagnostic Center Kupwara, Gee-Emm Fatima Diagnostic Center Kupwara and Sana-Deed Diagnostic Center Kupwara.
