JCCI demands Super Speciality Hospital

Jammu: Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries (JCCI) Wednesday demanded that the Super Speciality Hospital at Meheshpura Jammu be outsourced to some leading national player so that quality health care could be provided to the masses.

As per the statement, issued here, on the request of Chamber President Rakesh Gupta, the Minister for Health & Medical Education Bali Bhagat visited Chamber House along with Dr. Sunanda Raina, Principal Government Medical College Jammu, Lotika Khajuria, Controller Drugs and Food Control Organisation and Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Professor and HOD Department of Ophthalmology GMC Jammu.

On this occasion, the statement said that the Minister apprised the members of the Chamber regarding various initiatives undertaken which were never taken before making the load of patients difficult to handle at times.

The Chamber President, the statement said, demanded that “the Super Speciality Hospital at Meheshpura Jammu be outsourced to some leading national player so that quality health care could be provided to the masses. The Chamber also requested the Hon’ble Minister to strengthen the district hospitals so that everyone is not referred to GMC Jammu making it overloaded with patients leading  to negligence in handling them many times.”

On this occasion Chamber team honoured Dr. Dinech Gupta, Professor and HOD Ophthalmology, Dr. Sanjay Kai, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Dr. Anjali Manhas, Medical Officer and Urmil Nursing Staff for successfully undertaking cornea transplant surgery for the first time in Jammu.

The other office bearers of JCCI present on the occasion include Rajesh Gupta, Sr. Vice President, Rajeev Gupta, Jr. Vice President, Manish Gupta, Secretary General, Gaurav Gupta, Secretary and Ashu Gupta, Treasurer
