SOPORE: Hundreds of people including patients and residents today held a protest demonstration at Iqbal Market Sopore,  seeking revocation of transfer order of three special surgeon doctors including Dr. Kaiser and Dr. Rukhsana of MCH Sopore.

Notably,  all  the three doctors were posted in the Sopore hospital and as per the protesting patients- were transferred without any reason.

A group of people including female patients demanded that doctors should be allowed to continue in MCH Sopore as they termed them ‘competent and sincere’ doctors and were serving the people of North Kashmir districts of Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora.

“Mother and Child Hospital Sopore is the solitary hospital that caters to maternity cases for three districts of Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora. The transfer of gynecologists in the hospital will affect many people,” said a protester.

“It is not for the first time that a specialist and dedicated doctor is being transferred from SDH Sopore and MCH Sopore for no reason” said Mohammad Shaffi – another protester.

“Government deliberately transfers good doctors from here. Many a times the specialist doctors are transferred under political pressure because politicians want these doctors to be posted in their respective political constituencies,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, Block Medical Officer (BMO), Sopore Dr. Sami denied the claims said that the doctors has been transferred on temporarily based for seven days and we can manage other gynecologist for this period of time.
