Sopore: Poor cellular service in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has brought the telecommunication companies operating in the district under severe criticism with subscribers alleging that the poor communication is proving to be the reason for immense hardships for the locals.

A group of local residents from Rafiabad told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that only one mobile tower of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has been installed in the area, which too remains defunct, resulting in immense hardships to subscribes.

Bashir Ahmad Mir, a local resident said that expect BSNL, the other telecommunication companies have left its subscribers to face hardships as they have failed to provide mobile towers to the area, which results in poor network connection.

Mohammad Humzah, another resident said that the subscribers are being forced to use internet services at 2G speed.

He said that they appealed the higher ups several times in this regard but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard. However, officials couldn’t be contacted for their comments.
