Intensify efforts for doubling farmer’s income: Minister to Officers

Jammu: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Thursday exhorted upon Agriculture officials to redouble their efforts for welfare of farming community which would ultimately help achieve the target of doubling farmer’s income by 2022.

The Minister said this during his participation in the “Jashn-e-Zirat”one day convention organized by Non Gazetted Agriculture Graduate Association (NGAGA)of Agriculture Department.

Hanjura stressed upon the officers to ensure effective implementation of Government sponsored schemes meant for socio-economic transformation of farmer’s community. “This will help in achieving the target of doubling the income of farmers by 2022”, he asserted.

Hanjura said the government is making all efforts for sustained growth of agriculture sector by introducing several innovative measures to enable farmers get maximum returns from their land. He assured that genuine demands of the agriculture fraternity will be resolved at an earliest.

Minister of State for Agriculture, Sunil Kumar Sharma, stressed upon agriculture scientists that their work should reach out to farmers. He said that both the central and state government are working under a well-knit plan to ensure that the farmers get requisite incentives and facilities for their welfare and development.

Sunil Kumar Sharma said that Government is working hard to resolve the issues of Agriculture officers and technocrats.

Vice Chairman Kisan Board Daljeet Singh Chib said that Agriculture is the back bone of state’s economy and it is our firm commitment to encourage and promote this sector to the fullest.

Director Agriculture Kashmir H. K. Razdan, was also present on the occasion. The Minister felicitated the progressive farmers and handed over an Auto Rickshah to a farmer. On the occasion, farmers have also set up stalls displaying their agricultural products.
