43rd anniversary of G M Bulla observed

Sopore: The 43rd death anniversary of Ghulam Mohammed Bullah, Patron of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) was observed while a special congregational prayer was held at martyr’s graveyard in Sopore on Thursday. The congregational prayers were attended by scores of pro- freedom activists who paid tributes to the leader. 

The pro-freedom activists of Peoples League, JKLF, Mahaz Azadi and Salvation Movement including Ghulam Qadir Rah, Master Abdul Rashid Wani, Mohammad Shaffi Budghami, Mushtaq Ahmad, Haji Mohammad Ramzan, Barkat Ali, Farooq Ahmad, Mohammad Azeem, and Nisar Ahmad Jeelani participated in the congregational prayers. 

Ghulam Mohammed Bulla who killed during the intervening night of Feb 14-15 in Srinagar’s Central Jail in 1957, was the founder of JKPL.

Ghulam Mohammad Bulla was arrested on Feb 11, 1957 after he was spearheading the protests against the Abdullah–Indira accord. He later died while in custody.
