Snow ends dry spell, brings relief to Kashmir
Srinagar: Fresh snowfall has ended the prolonged dry spell and brought the much needed relief to the Valley. The snowfall has , however, blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
According to reports, the higher reaches including Pahalgam,Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Mughal road and adjoining aereas received heavy snow. While northern parts of Kashmir received the maximum snowfall with Gurez recording 2.5 feet snow.
The fresh snowfall disrupted vehicular traffic across Kashmir and as per official accounts heavy snowfall at many places along Srinagar-Jammu National Highway forced them to close all important Srinagar-Jammu highway for traffic movement.
