Uproar in assembly over woman’s killing

Jammu: Members of opposition National Conference on Friday day staged protest demonstrations against the continuous shelling along the borders of Jammu region.
 
Soon after the assembly session started today morning, MLA Mian Altaf supported by other legislators stood up from their chairs and condemned the killing of 47-year-old woman in Mendhar border area.
 
According to reports,  the legislators of NC including Mian Altaf, Ali Mohd Sagar and others sought speaker’s attention and demanded chief minister’s Mehbooba Mufti’s statement over the continuous selling along the border.
 
“For how long shall it continue and innocent lives be lost,” they said.
 
Pertinently, 47-year-old woman Zanib B wife of Nazir Hussain of Balnoie, Mendhar Poonch died in the spot after a motor shell hit her house last evening.
 
Meanwhile, an army soldier was injured late Thursday evening in the shelling by Pakistani forces in Krishna Ghati sector. The injured soldier was airlifted to military hospital Udhampur for treatment. (GNS)
