People’s sentiments boil over when there are killings: Geelani

Srinagar: Justifying the people’s resentment against armed forces, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday said that India can never kill the sentiment that has prevailed among the people.

Geelani said that repression and oppression have not made any difference. “People’s sentiments boil over when there are killings and they come out on the streets, saying India can never kill the sentiment that has always prevailed among the people,” Geelani said.

In his telephonic address, paying tributes to slain youth in Shopian, Raies Ahmad Mir, he said that those who lay their lives for a sacred cause, are alive with their Lord and receive sustenance from him.

Geelani while addressing to mourners, said that forces have left their brutal footprints. “We continue to bleed for the last 7 decades,” he said, adding that “hollow and tall claims of restraint by Indian forces were aimed at befooling the common people and repeated horrific incidents testified our claim that they are trigger happy and want to kill every soul in state.”

“Forces are on routine basis are  repeating the Jallianwala Bagh like massacres here,” said Geelani and urged International community to set up an International Independent Tribunal to probe theses massacre so that the conspirators and perpetrators of this heinous crime should be unmasked and punished under International Law.

Lashing at pro-Indian political parties, Geelani said that “PDP, NC, Congress and BJP, all are hand in glow with these killers and stressed people to boycott all these organizations and asked to stay away from these and safeguard sacrifices presented by our youth. Now it is people’s turn, particularly youth, to unite and foil conspiracies of India and its henchmen against freedom movement.”

Geelani expressed his deep concern over the ill plight of prisoners lodged in different jails and said that as per reports pouring, the ill treatment meted out to detainees belonging to Jammu and Chenab is very distressed and worrying.

Strongly denouncing jail authorities for their callous and brutal behaviour, Geelani said that virtually they have turned the jail like that of infamous Abu Ghareeb and detention period of jail mates is being prolonged on one pretext or the other.

Paying his tributes and hailing the commitment and steadfastness of Zakir Hussein Bhat, Muhammad Qasim Sheikh, Atta Mohammad, Gul Mohammad Khan of Udhampor, Mohammad. Aslam, (Chenab), Abdul Wahid, Mohammad Abbas, Farooq Ahmed, Hasan Babar and Abdul Rashid (Riasi), Ghulam Nabi Gujri, Abdul Rashid Bhat, Ab Rashid Rather Hakim Qiasar, Shabir-ul-Islam, Abdul Rahim, Hilal Ahmed Pala and Muhammad Salim War, all lodged in Kot Bhalwal, Geelani said that we are proud for their exhibition of commitment with freedom movemment.

On the direction of Geelani, Mohamad Yusuf Naqash, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Umer Adil Dar, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah Yasmeen Raja, Ad Davinder Singh, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder and Gazi Baba attend the Fateh Khawni of Wamiq Farooq on his 8th martyrdom anniversary.

Meanwhile on the directions of Geelani, a high level delegation including Huriyat General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji , Bilal Siddiqi, Advocate Davinder Singh Behal, Yasmin Raja, Saleem Zargar and Hurriyat spokesman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar extended condolences with the Sr Huriyat  leader and chairman Anjuman Shar-e -Shiyan, Aga Syed Hassan on the demise of his maternal uncle Aga Syed Fazul Ullah Alsafavi and conveyed the condolence message of Syed Ali Geelani to grieved family and  prayed for departed soul and forbiddance to grieved family.
