Jammu: The coalition partner of the state government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanded the withdrawal of an FIR lodged against the army men in the killing of two civilians in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

BJP’s RS Pathania said while speaking in the Assembly said that the government should withdraw the FIR against the Army personnel and lodge a fresh FIR without naming anybody.

He asked that why were serious charges levelled against the army? The criminal justice system, he said, doesn’t work under pulls and pressures.

Two youth – Javed Ahmad Bhat and Suhail Javed Lone – were shot dead by army in Ganowpora village of Shopian on Saturday.

Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident. Police has filed a murder case against the army
