Awami Darbar held, locals put forth various demands

Sopore: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash Saturday held an Awami Darbar at Dak Banglow in Sopore town.

Various representatives of Sopore including Civil Society Sopore, Traders Federation Sopore and other local people of town participated in Awami darbar.

On the occasion, the people apprised DC about various problems confronting the Apple Town and appealed him to expedite the process to resolve them.

Officers of different Departments, including SSP Sopore, ADC Sopore, Tehsildar Sopore and other district administration officers were also present on the occasion.

The locals projected various demands related to drinking water, improvement in road conditions, power supply, Garbage dumping site, drainage system, staff facilities and strength in hospitals, allocation of works under RDD, sanitation measures in Sopore markets and localities, solution for huge traffic jams, repairing of street lighting in markets, permanent arrangement of drinking water facilities to public of town, shifting of congested General bus stand Sopore and other basic facilities.

The people demanded that government should fully take over the mother and child hospital Sopore and equip it with adequate infrastructure and Manpower

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC gave the public deputations a patient hearing and assured them that all of their genuine demands would be redressed in a time-bound manner.

He directed the concerned executing and implementing agencies to work with added zeal, devotion and dedication so that people would be able to avail the facilities at their doorsteps.
