Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Thursday urged people to stage peaceful protests after Friday prayers tomorrow against the killing of civilians.

In a statement issued today, the JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, said time and again bullets are showered on the peaceful protestors resulting in the killing of young boys and girls.

“We believe this is a well-planned genocide of Kashmir’s young generation which is taking place under the patronage of rulers in J&K. We urge the people to stage peaceful protest against the killing spree after Friday prayers in each nook and corner of Valley,” the JRL said while strongly condemning the killing of 17-year old Shakir Ahmed of Shopian.

The JRL also asked the Imams of all the masjids and shrines to register their protest against the unabated killings of Kashmiri people by the “trigger-happy” forces.
