147 new fair price shops proposed for Doda district: Minister

Jammu: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumers Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali Wednesday informed the house that the government is going to open 147 new fair prices shops in the uncovered areas of Doda district.The Minister said, in the first instance, 38 new fair price shops licences have been sanctioned. 

Meanwhile, giving details of norms and criteria adopted for distribution of ration in erstwhile Doda district, the Minister said that there are uniform parameters for distribution of ration to   different categories in entire State.

“However, in case of inaccessible snow bound far-flung areas of Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan, Padder, Budhal, erstwhile tehsil of Karnah, Machail of district Kupwara, Gurez, of Bandipora, Leh and Kargil district, the norms have been relaxed under Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) and ceiling of total ration per family has been fixed a maximum of 50 Kgs under both the schemes (NFSA and MMSFES).” 

Regarding availability of Kerosene supply in the rural areas of Doda district, the Minister informed that there was scarcity of kerosene oil has not been reported from any area of the district. However, he said the dealer in Bijarni area has been directed for timely lifting and distribution of supply strictly according to the norms fixed by the Government, said the Minister.
