Restrictions in Srinagar parts tomorrow

Srinagar: The district administration Srinagar on Saturday decided to impose restrictions in Srinagar parts on Sunday in view of the shutdown called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on the anniversary of Gaw Kadal Massacre.

According to the District Magistrate Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, complete restrictions under Section 144 CrPC will be imposed within the territorial jurisdictions of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Safakadal, MR Gunj, Maisuma and Kralkhud police stations of the district on 21 January (Sunday).

The restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.

Pertinently, JRL had called for shutdown in Gaw Kadal and adjacent areas on Sunday to protest against the killings of 52 civilians on Jan 21, 1990 in the area.
