Five policemen, three civilians injured in Pulwama grenade blast

Srinagar: Five cops and three civilians were injured in a grenade blast at Pulwama area of south Kashmir on Friday.

Reports said that suspected militants lobbed a grenade towards police station Pulwama resulting in injuries to eight persons including five policemen.

“Soon after the attack, cops opened some gunshots”.

“We have received eight persons with splinter injuries most of them are policemen”, a doctor at the district hospital Pulwama said.

SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudary said that militants attacked a naka party of police outside the police station.

“Our five personnel suffered injured and have been hospitalized”, SSP said.

He said that searches have been launched to nab the attackers.(GNS)
