Army man killed as India, Pak trade fire along LoC in Rajouri

Srinagar: An Indian army man was killed on Friday after the armies of India and Pakistan traded heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A Defence official said that Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars in Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control (LoC) resulting in death of an army man.

“The deceased  army man has been identified as Lance Naik Sam Abraham. He was grievously injured and later succumbed to his injuries” the official said.

 Pertinently , two civilians and a BSF trooper were killed and 23 others, including 2 BSF men, were injured in heavy mortar shelling by Pakistan, along the International Border (IB), in three districts of Jammu division, officials said on Friday.
